A Sentimental Birthday Gift - A Bespoke Story

"My daughter wanted a pendant for her birthday."

Martina’s bespoke journey began with a very special request from her daughter, Iz, who wanted a pendant for her birthday. Martina immediately thought of her old engagement ring, which featured a diamond and a sapphire. Rather than let the stones sit in a drawer, Martina knew this was the perfect opportunity to turn them into a meaningful piece for her daughter.

“I had a diamond and sapphire from my engagement ring.”

Why Wongs?

Martina admitted she hadn’t heard of Wongs Jewellers until a friend recommended us. But after visiting us and creating the perfect birthday present, she quickly found that many people around her already knew of Wongs and spoke highly of our work. It was a wonderful discovery that led to an experience she will always cherish. 

“To be fair I had never heard of you (sorry!) - it was a friend who told me. But after I had been and sorted the present and told friends... they all knew of you.”

The Design Journey

Martina’s appointment with Wongs was the beginning of a truly warm and personal experience. She met Murtuza, who helped create a simple but beautiful design, seen in the sketch below - a pendant using the two precious stones from her engagement ring. Their conversation was effortless and creative, and the design came together perfectly. Martina felt cared for throughout the whole process, from the initial appointment to the final presentation.

“I could not believe how wonderful Murtuza was. We had a great exchange and he just designed a wonderful pendant using the two stones.”

The Big Reveal

Seeing the final pendant for the first time was a moment Martina won’t forget. Zara, who presented the finished piece, instantly connected with the story behind it and added her own thoughtful touch to the experience. Martina knew right away that her daughter would love it - and when Iz opened the gift, her joyful reaction was captured on video. It was everything Martina had hoped for.

“It looked amazing. Zara’s own story was a wonderful narrative to mine and she engaged with that immediately. We took a phone video of Iz opening it… it did not disappoint.”
