A Small Pendant with Huge Sentimentality - A Bespoke Story

At Wongs Jewellers, we love being part of our customers' journeys - not just for one special moment, but over many years. In this bespoke story, we revisit a customer who first came to us over a decade ago to design her unique engagement ring, and now, we’ve created another meaningful piece to match.

"Wongs designed my engagement ring over 10 years ago... when I won a piece of jade, I knew I wanted something to match."

Over 10 years ago, Wongs Jewellers created a bespoke leopard print gold band with a jade stone for this customer’s engagement ring - a design that was bold, beautiful, and totally unique to her.

Years later, after winning a piece of natural jade in our Christmas advent competition (seen below), she knew exactly where to go to create a matching piece.

“Wongs, Jenny in particular, designed and made my engagement ring over 10 years ago, and then made our wedding rings. The experience was such a good time, we loved every bit of it!”

Why Wongs?

After such a personal and positive experience creating her engagement and wedding rings, there was never a question of where to go. Wongs has been part of this customer’s story from the very beginning.

The Sentimental Story

This pendant wasn’t just about matching a treasured ring - it was about connecting generations. The customer chose to thread the new jade pendant onto her late mother’s gold necklace, a sentimental piece passed down from her parents' wedding day. The chain carries a tiny Chinese symbol meaning "Double Happiness" - a perfect match for this deeply meaningful design.

“I lost my mum when I was much younger, and she wasn’t there to see me get married. It means a lot to link this sentimental piece to my ring somehow, and I now wear it every day.”

The Design Journey

The design process felt like coming home. Jenny, the same designer who had worked on her engagement ring over a decade ago, remembered the original design and was involved in creating the new pendant.

Seeing the design come to life exactly as she imagined was the perfect continuation of their bespoke journey together.

“I was confident that my idea would be perfectly interpreted, and when I saw the design, it was exactly what I envisioned!”

The Big Reveal

When she saw the final piece, her reaction was instant.

“I literally gasped! It was so delicate but beautiful, with a very intricate and detailed pattern. Everyone I have since shown reacts in the same way because it's so unusual. I still find myself taking a close look at it now - it just makes me smile 😊”
