A Warm Welcome: Launch Weekend at Wongs Manchester
Our opening weekend at Wongs Jewellers Manchester was an unforgettable celebration filled with music, emotion, and an incredible sense of community. Opening in the heart of the Manchester Arndale marked a major milestone for us, and the way we were welcomed made the moment even more meaningful.
Friday: A Festive and Emotional Beginning
We began Friday with a magical surprise as a flashmob of carol singers filled the Arndale with beautiful vocals and Christmas spirit. Shoppers paused, smiles spread, and the space came alive with festive joy, creating the perfect way to announce our arrival in Manchester.
Shortly after, we marked the official opening with a ceremonial ribbon cutting led by our founder, Brian Wong. The moment was deeply emotional. As Brian was revealed the finished store for the first time, we captured many heart-warming moments as he became visibly emotional, taking in what years of dedication, craftsmanship, and family values had grown into.

Following the ribbon cutting, we opened our doors to friends, family, and customers who joined us for fizz and festive treats. The store buzzed with conversation as visitors browsed, explored our collections, and chatted with our team. From the very first day, we felt truly welcomed into the Arndale community.
While Brian remains an integral part of the Wongs story, this expansion was proudly managed by our directors, Peter Wong and Cynthia Cartwright, whose vision, care, and leadership brought Wongs Manchester to life.
Saturday and Sunday: Celebrating with Manchester
The celebrations continued across the weekend as we welcomed even more visitors into the store. On both Saturday and Sunday, customers were gifted a complimentary welded bracelet, one of our most popular personalised services. To mark the occasion, each bracelet was finished with a limited edition Manchester bee charm, created especially for our opening weekend.
The turnout across both days was incredible. We saw customers visiting for all sorts of reasons, from engagement rings and Christmas gifts, to wedding ring consultations, thoughtful personal purchases, and even those simply stopping by to introduce themselves and welcome us to Manchester.
